How we work

Our research methodology & independence

Every ranking follows the same process so the order reflects performance — not who pays us.

We shortlist by evidence. We gather every credible contender, then narrow to a test pool using published specs, expert consensus, and verified owner feedback — never sponsorship.

We score on custom metrics. Each category gets four weighted metrics tied to real-world use. We test hands-on where possible and verify claims against independent measurements before assigning a composite out of 10.

We publish only the top three. The three highest composite scores make the page — Best Overall, Runner-up, and Best Value. Rankings are reviewed on a fixed schedule and updated when products or prices change.
